Lady Wildcats post six-game winning streak
The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School girls’ basketball team posted three wins last week.
The three victories gave A-J a six-game winning streak.
A-J 59, Murphysboro 24: The visiting Lady Wildcats came on early and held on for the win Saturday, Jan. 11.
Sydnie Ralls scored 13 points and had 5 rebounds and an assist to lead A-J.
Mikayla Bundren had 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist. Kristin Edmonds had 10 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
Raegan Cruse had 7 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist. Addison Denny had 6 points, 13 rebounds and a steal.
Brodie Denny had 5 points, 2 rebounds and an assist. Anna Hess had 4 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Campbell Belcher had 2 points, 3 rebounds and an assist.
A-J 62, Goreville 43: The visiting Lady Wildcats pulled ahead after one quarter on their way to the win Thursday, Jan. 9.
Bundren had 24 points, 2 rebounds and a steal to lead the Lady Wildcats.
Edmonds had 13 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Cruse had 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
Ralls had 6 points, 2 steals and a rebound. Addison Denny had 5 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.
Hess had 4 points, 3 steals, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Olivia Capel had 2 points.
A-J 50, Vienna 31: The visiting Lady Wildcats pulled ahead early on their way to the win Wednesday, Jan. 8.
Bundren had 15 points, 3 rebounds and a block to lead A-J.
Edmonds had 12 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and a steal. Cruse had 9 points, a rebound, a steal and an assist.
Hess had 7 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 blocks. Ralls had 3 points, a rebound and a steal.
Addison Denny had 3 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Brodie Denny had a point and an assist. Jenna Sadler and Belcher each had 3 rebounds apiece.
A-J, 14-8, is scheduled to play Thursday, today, at home against Herrin and at the Benton Shootout against Hamilton County at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18.
