Lady Wildcat softball team winless in three recent games

The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School softball team lost three games in recent action.

Massac County 6, A-J 1: Katie Williams, Hailley Abernathy, Madi Bigler, Casey Akers and Reagan Morrison were each 1-for-3 to lead the visiting Lady Wildcats in the loss  Friday, May 5.

Mackenzie Carter was the losing pitcher, scattering 9 hits to go with 7 walks and 2 strikeouts.

Zeigler-Royalton-Christopher 19, A-J 8: Morrison was 3-for-3 to lead visiting A-J in the loss Wednesday, May 4.

Bigler was 2-for-3. Payton Alsip and Williams were each 1-for-2.

Britni Helton was the losing pitcher, scattering 6 hits to go with 8 walks and 3 strikeouts.

Murphysboro 13, A-J 5: Bigler was 3-for-4 with a two-run home run to lead the host Lady Wildcats in the loss Tuesday, May 3.

Carter was 2-for-4. Akers and Alsip were each 1-for-2. Abernathy was 1-for-3. Mackenzie Conway was 1-for-4 with a double.

A-J, 7-18, is scheduled to close out regular season play Friday at home against Chester.
