A-J golf teams compete at sectionals

The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School girls’ and boys’ golf teams both competed in the Class 1A sectionals last Monday, Oct. 8 .
“No boys or girls were able to advance on to state,” A-J coach Brandon Bierstedt said. “They just didn’t play well. But I would like to thank everyone for their support and look forward to next season.”
The A-J boys’ team competed at Effingham in the Class 1A sectional and three individuals on the girls team Emma Ray, Sydnie Ralls and Marlee Smith were at Centralia.
Bierstedt said the A-J teams will lose one senior boy to graduation, Carson Reynolds, and three senior girls in Ray, Kamyrn Glasco and Chloe Gamber.
