A-J boys’ golf heads to sectional
The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School boys’ golf team will be advancing to the Class 1A sectional for the second year in a row.
“It’s a tough road now,” A-J coach Brandon Bierstedt said. “We’ll see if we get anybody to state now.”
The Wildcats earned the right to advance to the Class 1A sectional earlier this week at Effingham by finishing in third place at the Trico Class 1A regional Tuesday, Oct. 2.
The top three teams and top 10 individuals advanced to the sectional.
West Frankfort won with 332. Trico was next with 343 and A-J finished in third place with 349.
Luke Lasley led the way for A-J with a score of 83. Peter Hauser was next with 84, followed by Carson Reynolds 86, Trent Mason 93 and Ayden Bailey 102.
