Goreville 4, A-J 2

Goreville pulled ahead in the opening inning on its way to a 4-2 win over visiting Anna-Jonesboro in high school baseball action Thursday, March 22.

The Wildcats bounced back to pull ahead 2-1 in the 2nd inning. But, the Blackcats added a pair of runs in the 5th inning to close out the scoring.

Blake Pena was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead the Wildcats at the plate. Kyle Clover was 1-for-3 with an RBI. 

Ross Pinnon and Wyatt Johnson were each 1-for-3 with a double apiece. Bryce Osman and Conner Jerolds were both 1-for-3. 

Osman and Hunter Ralls pitched in the loss. Osman pitched 4 innings and allowed 5 hits to go with 5 walks and 5 strikeouts. Ralls pitched 2 innings and allowed a hit to go with no walks and 2 strikeouts.

A-J is scheduled to play Thursday, today, at Benton.
