Dongola baseball needs more players
The Dongola High School baseball team has seven players on its roster and hopes to add more this week.
“I’m looking for more players interested in playing baseball,” Dongola coach Russell Gaddis said.
Seniors on the Dongola squad are first baseman/pitcher Charlie Duty, pitcher/infielder Billy Thomas and outfielder Nathan Williams.
There are no juniors. A trio of sophomores includes first baseman/infielder Alex Ames, pitcher/infielder/outfielder Hunter McCommons and infielder/outfielder Jacob Whitney. The lone freshman is outfielder Cameron Halthen.
Gaddis hopes to pick up enough players this week to field a full team. In case they fall short of numbers, the coach still plans to continue working out with the players who do show up.
