Cobden softball team goes 1-4 in recent play

The Cobden High School softball team was 1-4 in recent action.

Hardin County 7, Cobden 6: Jenna Hartline was 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs to lead host Cobden in the non-conference loss in 10 innings Friday, April 20.

Lauren Sweitzer was 2-for-5 with 2 RBIs. Molly Ellis was 2-for-5 with 2 doubles. Megan Rhodes was 2-for-5 with an RBI.

Jamison Cowart was 1-for-4. Alaina Hartline was 1-for-5 with an RBI. Meredith Flamm and Brooke Bailey were each 1-for-5.

Lexi Miller pitched 1 2/3 innings and didn’t allow a hit to go with no walks and 3 strikeouts. Flamm pitched 8 1/3 innings and allowed 7 hits to go with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.

Cobden 5, Vienna 3: Bailey was 2-for-3 with 4 stolen bases to lead visiting Cobden in the conference win Wednesday, April 18.

Alaina Hartline was 2-for-3. Sweitzer was 1-for-3 with a home run and an RBI. Flamm was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Miller was 1-for-3. Ellis was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Flamm was the winning pitcher, scattering 7 hits to go with 4 walks and 3 strikouts.

Elverado 2, Cobden 0: Ellis and Miller were each 1-for-3 for host  Cobden’s only hits in the conference loss Tuesday, April 17.

Ellis was the losing pitcher, allowing 4 hits to go with a walk and 6 strikeouts.

Scott City, Mo., 10, Cobden 0: Visiting Scott City’s pitcher fired a no-hitter in the loss for host Cobden Monday, April 16.

Flamm pitched 3 2/3 innings for Cobden and allowed 2 hits to go with 7 strikeouts and 3 walks. Ellis pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed 2 hits to go with 2 walks and no strikeouts.

Cobden, 5-8, is scheduled to play Friday at home against Zeigler-Royalton.
