Cobden softball falls in regional title game to Pope County
Aubrey Fisher was 2-for-3 with a triple to lead Cobden in a 5-2 loss to Pope County in the championship of the Class 1A high school softball regional at Dongola Saturday, May 18.
Lily Britt was 2-for-3 for the Appleknockers. Katelyn Shadowens was 1-for-2.
Lexi Miller and Aubrey Fisher pitched for Cobden. Miller pitched an inning and allowed a hit to go with a walk and no strikeouts. Fisher pitched 5 innings and allowed 4 hits to go with no walks and 2 strikeouts.
Cobden 14, Dongola 3: Jenna Hartline was 3-for-3 with a home run and an RBI to lead Cobden in the first-round regional win Thursday, May 16.
Britt was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Lauren Sweitzer was 2-for-4 with a home run, RBI and scored 2 runs. Fisher was 2-for-4 with a triple and 2 RBIs. Megan Rhodes was 2-for-4 with a double. Shadowens was 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs. Abby Clover was 1-for-3 with a triple. Emily White was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Miller had 2 RBIs.
Hailey Ames was 2-for-2 to lead the Lady Demons. Megan Theis was 2-for-3 with 2 doubles. Maddie Keller was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Brooklyn Hogue was 1-for-1. Melanie Altamirano was 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs. Jamie Anderson was 1-for-3.
Fisher was the winning pitcher, allowing 9 hits to go with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts.
