Cobden plays at sectional

Cobden was scheduled to face Woodlawn Tuesday night in an Illinois High School Association Class 1A sectional semifinal game.

Cobden was playing in the Norris City-Omaha-Enfield sectional. The sectional is being played in Norris City.

The Appleknockers advanced to sectional play after winning a regional championship game against Cairo last Friday night in Cobden.

Goreville and Okawville were slated to play Wednesday night in another sectional semifinal game in Norris City.

The winners of the games played Tuesday and Wednesday nights will face off for a sectional title.

The sectional championship game is set for 7 p.m. Friday, March 6, in Norris City.

The sectional champion advances to the Carbondale super-sectional on Tuesday, March 10. The game will be played at Southern Illinois University.
