Cobden falls to Steeleville in Legion baseball game
The Cobden American Legion baseball team lost 9-0 to visiting Steeleville Tuesday, June 27.
Cobden, which was held to six hits to go with five errors, stranded five base runners.
Chandler West was 2-for-3 to lead Cobden at the plate.
Clayton Flamm was 1-for-2. Josh Burgess, Cody Wieseman and Alex Ramsey were each 1-for-3.
West, Burgess and Wieseman pitched in the loss. West pitched 4 innings and allowed 5 hits to go with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. Burgess pitched 2 innings and allowed two hits to go with no walks or strikeouts. Wieseman pitched an inning and allowed 4 hits to go with no walks or strikeouts.
Cobden, 5-4, is scheduled to play at home Thursday, today, against Carrier Mills.
The 25th District tournament is scheduled to begin Thursday, July 13. The tournament schedule will be announced later this week.
