Cobden defeats Shawnee in high school baseball
Pitchers Alex Remsey and Landon Britt combined on a four-hitter to lead host Cobden to a 14-4 win over Shawnee in high school baseball action Thursday, Sept. 26.
Remsey pitched 3 innings and allowed 3 hits to go with 4 walks and 6 strikeouts. Britt pitched 2 innings and allowed a hit to go with a walk and 4 strikeouts.
Ryan Schaefer, Koby McLane and Caleb Nicholson pitched for Shawnee, combining on 14 hits to go with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts.
Noah Franklin was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs to lead the Appleknockers at the plate.
Tyler Franklin was 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs. Remsey and Josh Fuhrhop were both 2-for-3.
Josh Burgess was 2-for-4 with 4 RBIs. Britt was 1-for-2 with a home run and 2 RBIs.
Brock Reynolds was 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs. Ryan Barr was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Dylan Lewey was 1-for-4.
Schaefer was 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Shawnee. Braden Freeman was 1-for-2 with an RBI. McLane was 1-for-2.
Cobden, 4-5, was scheduled to close out its fall season on Wednesday against Pope County.
