Cobden boys basketball team tops Dongola
The Cobden High School boys’ basketball team split in recent action.
Cobden 70, Dongola 30: The host Appleknockers built a 24-4 first quarter advantage on their way to the South Egyptian Conference win Friday, Nov. 30.
Noah Franklin had 22 points to lead Cobden. Joe Brumleve added 13 points, Dylan Lewey 9, Jose Lopez 8, Zane Nance 7, Chandler West 4, Clayton Flamm 3 and Landon Britt and Cody Wieseman 2 apiece.
Christopher 52, Cobden 47: The visiting Bearcats had nine 3-pointers in the win Tuesday, Nov. 27.
Christopher was 12 of 12 from the free throw line in the final quarter.
Franklin had 19 points to lead Cobden. Brumleve added 14 points, Nance 6, Lopez 4 and Lewey and Alex Remsey 2 apiece.
Cobden, 4-3, is scheduled to play Friday at home against Meridian and Saturday at Anna-Jonesboro.
