In the final 5 seconds of the championship game at the Chester invitational tournament on Jan. 13, Cobden High School’s John Russell scored the last basket on a short floating jump shot. The basket took him over the 1,000-point total for his high school career. The game stopped briefly for Russell to be presented with the game ball. He received a standing ovation from the crowd.
