Patricia Buckner

Patricia Ruth Bartsch Buckner, 73, of Anna, died at 8:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2014 in Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born April 5, 1941 in Mt. Glen, near Cobden, the daughter of W.H. and Lucille Parmly Bartsch. She married Gary Buckner, her husband of 52 years, on Feb. 10, 1962 in Cobden.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Buckner of Anna; two children, Suzanne (Carl) Dillow of Anna, and Jay (Tai) Buckner of Anna; eight grandchildren, Kristen (Chris) Hodges, Kasie (Robert) Craft, Chelsy Buckner, Brock (Alexa) Buckner, Kenzie Dillow, Brennan Buckner, Kaitlyn Wilburn, and Ryan Buckner; four great grandchildren, Cash Hodges, Hunter Craft, Cobie Hodges, and Hayden Craft; one sister, Sue (Robert) Overby of Clay, Kentucky; her very special four legged friend, Milo;  many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a school teacher at Jonesboro Elementary School for over 30 years, as well as a guidance counselor. After her retirement, she worked at the JR Center as a vocational evaluator. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anna. Her passion was to enter contests and sweepstakes and spend time with her grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Carl Dillow and Rev. Les Sinks officiating. Interment was in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Bazaar of Anna or PAWS Place of Anna. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
