Yvonne Thomas Lauck

Yvonne Thomas Lauck, 82, died at 7:44 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at BJC Hospice Evelyn Center in St. Louis.

She was born in Cobden, on March 5, 1935, the daughter of Clarence Joseph (Joe) and Beatrice (Bea) Thomas.

She grew up in Cobden, where she graduated from Cobden High School.

She married William “Bill” J. Lauck on March 30, 1955, in Cobden. Later they moved to Alton, where they raised their family and shared many memories together with their children and grandchildren.

She later resided in Bethalto following the passing of her husband. It was here where she lived for 11 years with her cat Willy and where she enjoyed visits from her family, including her great-grandchildren.

She lived for her children and grandchildren. When she wasn’t with them, she would tell stories about being with them. Her son described her as the best person in the world. Her daughters described her as a best friend.

Surviving are her children: Son and daughter-in-law Keith T. and Susan Lauck, daughter and son-in-law Katherine L. (Kathy)(Lauck-Snell) and Paul Mayberry, daughter and son-in-law Linda L. (Lauck) and Michael Skelton; grandchildren Christopher M. (Laura) Lauck, Eric T. Lauck, Nicholas A. Lauck, Jason M. (Eunice) Skelton, Anna E. (Max) Snell; great-grandchildren Abigale (Abby) Lauck and Jack Lauck. She also leaves her kitty, Willy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Per her wishes, she will be cremated. Burial of ashes was alongside her husband at the Brighton Cemetery in Brighton, Illinois.

A memorial service was at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.

The Reverend Steve Rice officiated. Burial was in Brighton Cemetery in Brighton.
