Wilma Swadener

Wilma Swadener, 89, of East Peoria, and formerly of Wetaug, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria.

She was born on June 11, 1927, in Wetaug, the daughter of Louis and Cora Severs Gulley.

She married Darrell Hacker in October 1947. He preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1955. On Nov. 9, 1962, she married Robert Swadener.

She is survived by her husband, Robert of East Peoria; two daughters, Debra (Mark) Brown of Ullin and Cathleen (James) Powers of Peoria Heights; two sons, Tommie (Marcella Hall) Hacker of Tamms and Randall Hacker of Peoria; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Blanche Mize of Villa Ridge and Nina Goines of Wetaug; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, four brothers and a daughter-in-law, Donna Hacker.

A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, with Rick Liggin officiating.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin, with Brad Goines and Brent Miller officiating. Interment was in the American Legion Cemetery in Dongola.
