William H. “Willie” Chapman

William H. “Willie” Chapman, 74, of Wolf Lake, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023, at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Mo. 

He was born on Aug. 16, 1949, in Anna, the son of Herchel Wilber and Olga Evalee Andrews Chapman. 

He married Sandra Kay Williams on Aug. 27, 1968, in Grand Tower. She preceded him in death on Feb. 20, 2017.

Mr. Chapman is survived by his children, Tancy (Danny) Cook of Anna, Ruby (Keith) Poole of Wolf Lake, Jack Jr. (Hope) Williams of Marion and Jace Williams of Wolf Lake; daughter-in-law Kathy Chapman of Wolf Lake; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings Martha Lemons of Cape Girardeau, James Chapman of Florida, Nancy (Alan) Austin of Buncombe and Emma Lou (Odie) Hutchinson of Brookport; dear friend Randy Lambdin and his family; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sandra Kay Chapman; son William “Bill” Chapman Jr.; brothers Donnie, Herman, Charles and Herchel Chapman; and sisters Rhetta Kay Copeland, Irma Chapman and Norma Burke.

Mr. Lambdin spent his working career farming the bottoms with the Lambdin family. When he wasn’t on the farm, he and Sandra enjoyed camping together. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and always enjoyed the family gatherings.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Bob Henson officiating. Interment followed in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
