William David ‘Frogg’ Elkins

William David “Frogg” Elkins, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 21, 2021. He was 69 years old.

David (Frogg) was born on Sept. 18, 1952, in Anna. He was the son of Billy Donn Elkins and Betty Sue Manus Elkins. He was the third of four children born to them.

Early in his life, Frogg married and worked at Bunny Bread in Anna, before moving his family to Lampe, Mo., in 1987.

There, Frogg would go on to work as a bowling mechanic and manage two different bowling alleys, Hillbilly Bowl in Kimberling City, Mo., and Town and Country Lanes in Berryville, Ark.

Bowling was a large part of Frogg’s life. He would have the opportunity to develop and be a part of numerous youth leagues throughout his life. He would also go on to become a certified bowling coach.

One of his biggest passions in life was this sport and he would use this opportunity to pass on his knowledge and love for it to many different children and families.

Frogg was also an avid golfer, an active member of the Kiwanis and a friend to anyone he met. He shared his love of sports with everyone and he always had a story to tell and a laugh that was contagious.

He is survived by his two daughters, Christy Griffith (Greg) of Monett, Mo., and Mary Essary (Jason) of Kimberling City, Mo.; two sisters, Christy Tuttle (Ellis) of Columbia, Mo., and Claudia Lipusch (David Prucha) of Madison, Wis.; one brother, Dan Elkins (Michelle Kassel) of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Dakota Kevin Williams of Kimberling City, Mo., and Nevaeh Robyn Griffith of Monett, Mo., and one great-grandson, James Dakota Melvin Williams of Kimberling City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Per Frogg’s wishes, he will be cremated and a celebration of life memorial will be held in Berryville at a later date.

Memorials  can be made the Kiwanis Club of Berryville, P.O. Box 652, Berryville, Ark. 72616; Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, 239 Turpentine Creek Ln., Eureka Springs, Ark.; 72632; or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
