Wanda Gulley
Wanda Gulley, 89, of Pinckneyville, and formerly of Dongola, died on May 23, 2019, at Fairview Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born on Dec. 19, 1929, in Pulaski County, the daughter of Oscar and Coba Elizabeth Meisenheimer Shaffer.
She married Glenn “Bally” Gulley on Nov. 20, 1948. He preceded her in death in November 2002.
She retired from the Dongola School District as a cook. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dongola.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Joie Gulley of Pinckneyville; grandsons Drew Gulley of Arnold, Mo., and Joe (Amber) Gulley of Pinckneyville; great-grandchildren Jonathan Gulley, Autumn Gulley, Shaun Gulley and Sam Gulley; one great-great-grandchild to arrive in June; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald “Dugan” Gulley; a brother, Russell Shaffer; and sisters Helen Crain, Gladys Hooppaw, Norma Dillow and Virginia Moore.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola, with Dr. Donald Badgley officiating.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
