Virginia (Ginny) Miles

Virginia (Ginny) Miles, nee Brimm, died on Sept. 10, 2018, in Maryville.

She was born on Dec. 18, 1927, in Anna, the daughter of Dee and Vica Brimm.  

She married Earl Miles, Jr. on Aug. 10, 1947.  

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Collinsville and attended the South Venice Christian Church in Venice, Fla., while living there in the winter.  

She was a secretary for many years, retiring from the superintendent’s office at Collinsville Unit 10 after 15 years there.  

Ginny and Earl enjoyed traveling abroad and taking cruises.  

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Hewitt of Collinsville and her son, Douglas Miles of Highland; her granddaughters, Gretchen Hund (husband Dan), Kristen Miles and Kaitlin Miles, all of Highland; and great-grandchildren Trent, Savannah and Lucas Hund.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her mother and father; by sisters Mary Whitney, Adonis (Tootsie) Watson, Eleanor Ketchie, a brother, Charles D. Brimm; brothers-in-law Leon Whitney, Paul Watson and Irvin Ketchie; and a sister-in-law, Helen Mae Brimm.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Anna Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Arthritis Foundation. Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville is in charge of arrangements.
