Violet Eddleman
Violet Eddleman, 91, of Dongola, and formerly of San Diego, Calif., died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019, at 6:45 p.m. at Integrity Healthcare in Anna, with her family by her side.
She was born on Dec. 27, 1927, in Ullin, the daughter of Roy Edward and Lois Alberta Dillow Mowery.
On July 1, 1957, she married Gilbert Eddleman.
She loved working on the family farm, where she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She enjoyed all types of gardening, especially flowers and feeding the birds. She loved cooking for her family and spending time with all her grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dongola.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Todd) Cerni of Longmont, Colo., Brenda (Scott) Dixon of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Judy Ritchey (Patrick Duffy) of Dongola; grandchildren Leah Roberts, Roy (Jessica) Dillow, Ashley Dixon, Tanette (TJ) Henderson and Jayda (Brian) Egger; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Wanda Lovitt of Shiloh; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert; and a brother, Bruce Mowery.
Funeral services for Violet Eddleman were at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola. The Rev. Perry Williams officiated. Interment followed in St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola.
