Susan ‘Sue Ann’ Trout
Susan “Sue Ann” Trout, 89, of Highland, and formerly of East Cape Girareau, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Highland Health Care Center.
She was born on June 9, 1931, in Kennett, Mo., the daughter of Roscoe and Edith Baker McKinley.
She married William Trout on July 8, 1949.
She worked for Florsheim Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau. Later she worked in housekeeping at Southeast Hospital and was also a volunteer at the hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, William T. “Bill” Trout of Highland; sons William Van (Debra) Trout of Terre Haute, Ind., and Wayne (Sherry) Trout of Festus, Mo.; daughters Marcie Lipe of Imperial, Mo., and Arlene Heath of Granite City; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her two sons-in-law, Mike Lipe and Jim Heath; and by two brothers, Van Bess and Mack Bess.
Funeral services for Susan “Sue Ann” Trout were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, with her grandsons, the Rev. Dennis Heath and the Rev. David Trout, officiating. Interment followed in Lindsey Cemetery.
