Stanley James Carr Sr.

Stanley James Carr Sr., 66, of Anna, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022. 

He was born on July 22, 1956, in Cairo, the son of James Palmer and Lela Faye Abney Carr. 

He married Sarah Sandusky on Nov. 1, 1983, in Charleston, Mo.

Mr. Carr is survived by his wife, Sarah Carr of Anna; children Jamie (Cody) Reed of Sikeston, Mo., Sonya (Jeff) Mayberry of Caruthersville, Mo., Kim Wicker of Pennsylvania and Alexandria Davis of Karnak; grandchildren Cody, Sabrina, Addie, J.P., Austin, Vincent, Lydia, Marsha, Desire, Tori, Alexandria, Hannah, Hailey, Nathan and Trevor; great-grandchildren Tamra, Sophie, Leilani, Serena, Colton and three more on the way; a brother, Charles William (Becky) Carr of Belknap; a sister, Susan Nottage of Goreville; a sister-in-law, Brenda (Darrell) Stallings of Charleston, Mo.; other relatives and many friends. 

He also leaves fur babies Bear and Hamie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stanley James Carr Jr.; a sister, Sheila Tybo; and by three brothers, Paul, Jesse and Wayne Carr.

Mr. Carr was retired from Steward Steel in Sikeston, Mo., where he worked 22 years as a welder. 

He was a devoted member of the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Jonesboro, where he served as board member and bus driver. 

He was a loving husband and a faithful man of God. Stanley was always willing to help others. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and going fishing.

A celebration of his life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Jonesboro, with Pastor Mark Goins officiating. Interment will be in the Ullin Cemetery. 

Friends can call after 11 a.m. and until the service at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be made to the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle. Envelopes will be available at the church and at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
