Sonja F. Underwood

Sonja F. Underwood, 71, of Goreville, died  Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at her son’s home in Goreville. 

She was born on July 2, 1948, in Anna, the daughter of Luther “Fuzz” and Juanita Fern (Durham) Wheaton. 

She is survived by her son, Brian (Tina) Underwood of Goreville; a daughter, Christina Frampton of Goreville; grandchildren Garrett, Zachary, and Addyson Underwood, Brittany (Jason Etheridge) Frampton and Ryan Frampton; a brother, Gene (Peggy) Wheaton; sisters Rita (Randy) Herren and Kathy (Darrell) Burlison, all of Goreville; other relatives and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Pamela Wheaton and Denise Wheaton; and her brothers, Harold Wheaton and Skip Wheaton.

She loved reading the paper every morning and doing the daily sudoku. She enjoyed antiquing and sewing.  She worked and retired from the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna for over 18 years. 

Graveside services were at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at the Anna Cemetery, with Anthony Underwood officiating. Interment followed.
