Shirley Earnhart

Shirley Earnhart, 70, of Dongola, died at 11:32 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2018, at her home in Dongola.

She was born on Aug. 3, 1947, in Cairo, the daughter of Harold H. and Bernice Litsey Hart.

She married Teddy Lynn Earnhart on March 19, 1966. He preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 2011.

She graduated from Dongola High School in 1965. Later, she graduated from Southern Illinois University and she taught for many years at Dongola Elementary School. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Dongola.

She is survived by her son, Greg Earnhart of Dongola; sisters Nancy Davis and Melanie (John) Terbrak, both of Dongola; a dear friend, Janie Peterson of Dongola; nieces Stacy Davis of Tulsa, Okla., Tommie (Daniel) Pickett of Tulsa, Okla., and Emily Terbrak of Dongola; a nephew, Jesse Terbrak of Dongola; an aunt, Marietta Churchill; and cousins Charlie Hart, Sally Bell, Carol Hutchison and Linda Diaz.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral services for Shirley Earnhart will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, today, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola, with the Rev. Tim Heinecke officiating. Interment will follow in the American Legion Cemetery in Dongola.
