Sherry Ann Rose Sheffer

Sherry Ann Rose Sheffer, 69, of Olmsted, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at Metropolis Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Metropolis.

She was born on June 4, 1953, in Paris, Tenn., the daughter of the Rev. Travis Rose Sr. and Doris Henderson Rose.

She married the love of her life, Donnie Sheffer, on May 27, 1977. They shared 44 years together until Donnie’s passing on June 24, 2021.

She was a member of Caledonia Community Church in Olmsted. She loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals.

She was a very strong lady who faced many health battles throughout her life.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two nephews, Michael Anderson and Dennis Taylor; two brothers-in-law, George Taylor and Kevin Williams; and a great-grandson, Jaxen Charles Sheffer.

Survivors include her children, Trent (Briana) Sheffer, Adrienne Sheffer, Lisa (Danny) Taylor and David (Belinda) Sheffer; a brother, Travis (Janet) Rose Jr.; sisters Diana (Gene) Edwards and Glenda Williams; a brother-in-law, James Robert (Glenda) Sheffer; sisters-in-law Mary Taylor and Ruth (Earl) Myhre; grandchildren Adam (Molly) Windings, Lauren Windings and Dustin (Loura) Sheffer; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge. The Rev. Gene Edwards officiated. 

Interment followed in the Masonic Cemetery in Olmsted.
