Sandra Zamora Martinez

Sandra Zamora Martinez, 29, of Cobden, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. 

She was born on Dec. 29, 1994, in Mexico, the daughter of Pastor Zamora and Zoila Martinez. She married Marco Antonio Sosa.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Marco Antonio Sosa; daughter Xochitl Zamora; stepson Miguel Sosa; parents Pastor Zamora and Zoila Martinez; brother Melesio Zamora; sisters Yuliana Zamora and husband Moises Cantu, Hortensia Zamora and husband Israel Morales, Zonia Zamora and Maira Zamora; grandparents Santos Martinez, Hilda Amezquita and Elvira Calderon Amezquita; nephews Ricardo and Jonathan Cantu; nieces Valery Morales and Arisbeth Cantu; other relatives and many friends.

Sandy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden. She graduated from Cobden High School and Shawnee Community College. She was a social worker at Su Casa Migrant Head Start. She loved her family and they loved her. She will be deeply missed.

Funeral Mass for Sandra Zamora Martinez was at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden, with Father Uriel Salamanca as celebrant. Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cobden.
