Sandra M. Williams

Sandra M. Williams, 86, of Anna, and formerly of Cairo, died on March 21, 2022, at 4:30 a.m. at her home.

She was born on Sept. 1, 1935, in Cairo, the daughter of Barney and Oma Briney Beard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Williams Sr.; and a daughter-in-law, Linda (Patrick).

In addition to raising three sons, she was a full time working mother. She managed the Manor Motel in Cairo for many years.  She later worked for Service Master Corporation, working her way up to plant manager. In the latter part of her career, she specialized in institutional startups for Service Master, traveling throughout the southeast United States until her retirement. Upon retirement she and husband Jimmy Dean settled in Anna.

Even in retirement she was very active serving on the board of the Southern Pride Senior Program.  One of her greatest pastimes was traveling and camping in her motor home.

She is survived by her three sons, Michael W. (Paula) Williams, James D. Williams Jr. and Patrick T. Williams; grandchildren Meghan N. Williams, Lee A. Williams, Cody D. Williams, Micah E. Williams and Jamie Williams; great-grandson Connor; and (unofficially adopted daughter) Dawn (Little Girl) Walston.  

Her abundant family and friends left behind will always cherish the memory of her kindness, strength, determination and character.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26, at 11 a.m. at Crain Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Jerry Gleason officiating.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 26, from 9 a.m.  until the time of services at the funeral home. 

Interment will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge.

Memorials can be made to the Southern Pride Senior Program.

Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
