Russell K. ‘Hokie’ Johnson Jr.

Russell K. “Hokie” Johnson Jr., 44, of Jonesboro, died at 8:20 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at his home.

He was born on Feb. 17, 1973, in Peoria, the son of Russell Keith Johnson Sr. and Shirley Cady Page.

He was a truck driver for over 10 years and worked as a mate on the river. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He had a love for his dogs.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Page (Bruce Booker) of Anna; his father, Russell (Judy) Johnson Sr. of Jonesboro; sons Brandon Johnson and Brett Johnson of Anna; daughters Breanna Johnson of Marion and Chassidy Johnson of Jonesboro; sisters Tanya Page of Peoria and Tiffany (Asa) Busby of Jonesboro; grandchildren Colton Lee and Gavin Reed Johnson of Anna; nephews Justin DeSue of Peoria and Keaton Busby of Jonesboro; niece Keely Busby of Jonesboro; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marshall and Mable Johnson, Joseph Cady Jr. and Donna Cady Sikes.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with Guy Johnson officiating. Interment followed in the Anna City Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the SIH Cancer Institute in Carterville.
