Ruby Everett

Ruby Everett, 75, of Ullin, died at 4:08 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at her home.

She was born on April 2, 1942, in Mound City, the daughter of Robert and Esther Short Mitchell.

She married Bill “Red” Everett on Dec. 22, 1981. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2003.

She worked as a cook at Cheeko’s Restaurant for many years. She was a member of the Sandusky Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph Crowley of Jacksonville and Kenny Crowley of Ullin; stepsons Nick Everett of New Baden, Jeff Everett of San Antonio, Texas, and Michael Everett of Texas; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers Robert Mitchell of Metropolis, Walter Mitchell of Pulaski, John Mitchell of Mound City, Leon Mitchell of Grand Chain, Leroy Mitchell of Olmsted and James Mitchell of Ullin; a sister, Ruby Jones of Anna; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her stepson, Ricky Everett, and a sister, Carolyn.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin, with the Rev. Enloe Clemons officiating. Interment was in St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola.
