Rose RedCloud

Rose RedCloud, 83, of Tamms, died at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at the home of her son, James, in Ullin, where she had lived for the past year.

Vanita Rose RedCloud was born on Oct. 12, 1937, in Tamms, the daughter of Montdean and Lucille Miller Mayberry.  

She was married to James RedCloud Sr., who preceded her in death. She then married Charles RedCloud, who also preceded her in death.  

She was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall in Cairo. 

She worked for many years as a contracted postal worker and at the Tamms Shelter Care Home.  

She enjoyed being outdoors and her animals. She loved watching all birds.  Most of all she loved her boys, playing with her grandbabies and great-grandbabies. Rose was a very loving wife, mother and grandma. She always had a hug and a kiss for her family and had a great sense of humor.  

She is survived by two sons, James RedCloud Jr. and wife Sharon of Ullin and Micheal RedCloud and wife Beth of Tamms; grandchildren Michelle (Clint) Nale, James RedCloud III (Ashlee Holmes), Ashley (Trent) Barnhardt, Chad (Jessica) RedCloud, Della Rose (Steven) Miller, Jennifer (Tommy) Kissner, Jason (Emilie) Ashworth and Jamie (Alisha) Ashworth; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; four siblings, Dewayne Mayberry, Charlotte (Al) Dover, JoAnn RedCloud and Bonny Absher; two sisters-in-law, May Robinson and Helen Severs; many friends and other family.

Besides her husbands and parents, she was also preceded in death by three great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Mayberry; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Mayberry; and three brothers-in-law, Carl RedCloud, Richard RedCloud and Robert RedCloud.

Visitation for Rose RedCloud will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at Crain Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau. Services will follow at 7 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Clint Nale officiating.  Inurnment will be on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the Mound City National Cemetery.  

Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church of Ullin building fund.  

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms is in charge of arrangements.
