Roger Rushing

Roger Rushing, 68, of Cairo, died at 4:46 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, at his residence.

He was born on Aug. 20, 1954, in Cairo, the son of Earl and Lily Ann Jackson Rushing. 

He married Martha Page in 1987. She survives. 

Mr. Rushing was the owner of Cairo Cab Company. He also worked as a custodian for Cairo Junior High School. 

He enjoyed hunting for Indian artifacts and collecting arrowheads. He was a member of the Archeology Society. 

Survivors include his wife, Martha Rushing of Cairo; a brother, Donald (Linda) Rushing of Wickliffe, Ky.; nieces Sandra (Rodney) Forrester of Wickliffe, Ky., Jennifer Chance of Sikeston, Mo., and Lisa Mullins of Metropolis; a brother, Paul (Joyce) Page of East Prairie, Mo.; and several other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at Crain Funeral Home in Cairo, with Dee Hazelwood officiating. Interment to follow the service in Spencer Heights Cemetery.
