Robert Vaughn ‘RV’ Lamer

Robert Vaughn “RV” Lamer, 79, of Cobden, died Monday, March 8, 2021, at his home. 

He was born on Nov. 5, 1941, in Anna, the son of R.E. “Babe” and A. Catherine “Kitty” Mann Lamer. 

He married Linda Blankenship on Dec. 30, 1967, in Morganfield, Ky.  

He was a true outdoorsman. He loved it all, fishing, camping, horseback riding and generally being outside. He loved to pick the strings on his guitar and enjoyed his family immensely. He worked for many years as an administrator in the Job Corps. 

Mr. Lamer is survived by his wife, Linda; children Julie (Kelly) O’Nan of Henderson, Ky., Angela Lamer of Bowling Green, Ky., and Katherine (Ryan) Smith of Goldsboro, N.C.; grandchildren Reece (Elizabeth) O’Nan, Myles Lamer and fiancée Abby Blackwell, Patrick Smith and Tanner Smith; one great-grandchild, Oliver O’Nan; a sister, Sue Ella Rich of Cookeville, Tenn..; many other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Barbara Lee Pearson.   

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden, with the Rev. Kerry Bean officiating. Interment was in the Cobden City Cemetery in Cobden.  

Memorials can be made to either the First Presbyterian Church in Cobden or the American Heart Association.
