Robert Leland Osman

Robert Leland Osman, 80, of Dongola, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023, at his residence.

He was born on Jan. 17, 1943, in Anna, the son of Leland Osman and Mary Belle Penrod Osman.

He married Lorene Dunkin on June 30, 1963. She survives.

Mr. Osman was a lifelong farmer in Southern Illinois. He was an avid reader, and had many friends, and was always there to help anyone in his community. He was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats and St. Louis Cardinals fan.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene; a son, Mark Osman; a daughter, Kelly (Randy) Johnson; a granddaughter, Callie Osman; a grandson, Corbin Lee Johnson; brothers Ronald E. (Michelle) Osman and Edward E. Osman; nieces, nephews and other relatives, including his brothers-in-law, Bob (Bev) Dunkin, Larry Joe (Pat) Dunkin and Jerry (Louise) Dunkin.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law; a niece, Shawna Osman; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Henry; and a brother-in-law, Junior Lee Dunkin.

Funeral services for Robert Leland Osman were at noon Monday, Jan. 30, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola, with Brent Miller officiating.

Interment was in Friendship Cemetery in Dongola.
