Robert L. Del Favero

Robert L. Del Favero, 91, of Palmetto, Fla., and formerly of Jonesboro, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at Blake Hospital in Bradenton, Fla. 

He was born on April 25, 1931, in Chicago, the son of Geno and Dorothy (Bonnert) Del Favero. 

He married Jean Florence Stonell on Oct. 20, 1956, in Westchester. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2010. 

Mr. Del Favero is survived by his son, William “Bill” Del Favero and daughter Jana Del Favero, both of Palmetto, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Joann (Paul) Prell of Downers Grove; other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean Del Favero; and two brothers, Paul L. and James G. Del Favero. 

Mr. Del Favero served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired butcher, who worked many years for Jewell Foods and later Boyd’s Butchering. He loved traveling, watching baseball and spending time with his family.

Graveside funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at the Anna Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. David Fischler officiating. Interment immediately followed. 

Military rites were conducted by Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Scott Air Force Base honor guard military honor team.
