Robert Fitch Seal
Robert Fitch Seal, 95, of Chicago, and formerly of Anna, died at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at California Gardens in Chicago.
He was born on Aug. 25, 1922, in Chicago, the son of Henry Robert and Sarah Elizabeth Fitch Seal.
His wife, Bessie Soby, preceded him in death in 2003.
He was a graduate of the University of Chicago. He worked in the education field of psychiatry. He enjoyed wild foods and had a passion for museums and libraries and loved his job as a taxi driver.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl “Cherry” (Charles Mason) Connolly of Cobden; and grandchildren Roy Connolly and Cliff Connolly.
Per his wishes, cremation will be accorded and there will be no services. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Chicago area.
Memorials can be made to Rowan Cemetery in Makanda and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
