Richard L. “Dick” Stewart

Richard L. “Dick” Stewart, 82, of Ullin, and formerly of Elgin, died Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at his residence. 

He was born on March 18, 1940, in Elgin, the son of Charles and Irene Anderson Stewart.

He married Linda McMillion on March 3, 1989, and she survives.

Mr. Stewart served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962. He was a retired communication technician from Illinois Bell Telephone. 

He was a member of Cross Road United Methodist Church in Ullin. He was a member of the NRA for over 30 years. 

Besides his wife, Linda, he is survived by two step-daughters, LaDonna Dexter and Sheryl Shelton, both of Anna; a stepson, Steven (Karen) Hubbs of Georgetown, Texas; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gladys Bressette and Patricia Stewart; and one nephew, Bobby Stewart.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, March 28, at  Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with Pastor Pete Vinson officiating. 

Interment followed in Casper Cemetery near Anna. Military honors were accorded.

Memorials can be made to Cross Road United Methodist Church.

Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.
