Raymond Alexander Baggott
Raymond Alexander Baggott, 19, of Du Quoin, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, at 8 a.m. at his home.
Alex was born on Oct. 24, 2001, in Carbondale, the son of Raymond L. and Lori Lyerla Baggott.
Alex attended First Baptist Church of Tamaroa, where his grandpa serves as the pastor.
He loved spending time with his family and friends. Alex loved his country and aspired to serve in the United States Marines after finishing school.
Survivors include his parents, Raymond L. and Lori Baggott of Du Quoin; three sisters, Sarina Lyerla (Garrett Dorsey) of Du Quoin, Amber Baggott of Du Quoin and Jeni (Andy) Beck of Energy; his paternal grandfather, the Rev. Raymond D. Baggott of Du Quoin; his nieces and nephews, Kyson and Loryn Dorsey, Annie Sturgill, Lane Hamilton and Abbey and Jake Beck; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmothers, LaVada Simpson and Diane Baggott; his maternal grandparents, Loran and Dorothy Lyerla; and his aunt, Rebecca Johnson.
A private funeral service will be held at Crain Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Kelly Cemetery near Cobden.
