Phyllis C. Tweedy

Phyllis C. Tweedy, 79, of Wolf Lake, died Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Union County Hospital in Anna.  

She was born on Nov. 17, 1938, in Jonesboro, the daughter of Phillip Eugene and Beulah Smith Rothchild.  

She married Richard Tweedy on July 7, 1956, in Corinth, Miss.  

She is survived by her husband, Richard Tweedy of Wolf Lake; two sons, Ritchie (Vickki) Tweedy of Wolf Lake and Rodney (Rhonda) Tweedy of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Brittany (John) Lence of Copperas Cove, Texas, Austin Tweedy of Gibsonton, Fla., Logan Tweedy of St. Louis, Cameron Tweedy of Jonesboro, Ashlin Tweedy of Jonesboro and Madison Tweedy of Jonesboro; three great-grandchildren, Brylee and Jameson Lence and Kinley Tweedy; two brothers, Charles Eugene (Paula) Rothchild of Marion and  David (Kay) Rothchild of Anna; a sister-in-law, Marilyn (Dennis) Tweedy Kuczynski of Plainfield; two nephews and  five nieces; a very dear friend, Martin Bunch of Anna; other relatives and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and two nephews.

She was a member of the Faith Assembly Church in Wolf Lake.  She preached in many churches throughout Southern Illinois and was a licensed member of the clergy for over 25 years.  

She and her husband, Richard, owned and operated the family business, Tweedy’s Truck Stop & Fish Market in Wolf Lake for many years.

Funeral services for Phyllis C. Tweedy were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Pastor Ron Thorn officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery.
