Pearl E. Karraker

Pearl E. Karraker, 93, of Metropolis, and formerly of McClure, died at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Southgate Healthcare Center in Metropolis.

She was born on July 17, 1924, in Dover, N.H., the daughter of Alphonse and Florence Court Gagne. 

She married Lynn J. Karraker Jr. on Dec. 6, 1947. He preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1966. 

She loved being surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and food service.  She attended the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children, Madeline (Stan) Schwartz of Murphysboro; Steve (Cheryl) Karraker of Metropolis, Diane (Eddie) Pearl of McClure and MaryAnn Karraker of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers Earl Sutliff of Adirondack, N.Y., and Paul (Brenda) Sutliff of Cobden; and a sister, Linda Kelsey of Denver, Colo.

Besides her husband, she also was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Mrs. Karraker were at noon Friday, May 11, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro,  with Bryan McAlister officiating. Interment was in Christian Chapel Cemetery in Dongola.
