Paula Yvonne Hansil

Paula Yvonne Hansil, 77, of Anna, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024 at Deaconess Illinois Union County Hospital in Anna. 

She was born on Oct. 16, 1946, in Vienna, the daughter of Dallas and Naomi Walker Alsip. 

She married William J. Hansil on Dec. 23, 1963,in Anna. He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 2008. 

Mrs. Hansil is survived by her sons, Tony Hansil, Troy (Cindy) Hansil and Alex Hansil (Gina Stokes); favorite daughter Tina Hansil-Kee (Russell); grandchildren Jessie Hansil, Elizabeth Turner, Rachael Tripp, Dallas Hansil, Emmalee Hansil, Santanna Ficken, Ryan Hansil, Joey Hansil, James Garrett and Cheyenne Garrett; numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Dallas Alsip; her mother, Naomi Singo; a brother, Jerry Alsip; and twin grandsons, Jeremiah and Jeremy Hansil.

Now that the sad part of this obituary is done, Paula would not want tears shed for her (maybe a few…she did die after all). Paula had a wicked sense of humor and a quick wit that would leave people laughing or in shock. Nothing was off limits. You can thank (or blame) her for handing these traits down to her children. So, shed some tears if you must but please remember her with a smile and laughter and tell a joke in her honor. 

Funeral services were at noon Thursday, Oct. 10, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Interment was in the Anna Cemetery.
