Paul Edward Pearson

Paul Edward Pearson, 79, of Cobden, died at 10:25 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

He was born on July 21, 1937, in Cobden, the son of Harvey S. and Betty Octavia Mungle Pearson.

He married Edith Elaine  Cobb on Jan. 28, 1957, in Northern Illinois.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Edith Elaine Pearson of Cobden; two daughters, Nancy (Elmer) Detrick of Ozark, Mo., and Patricia (Jimmy) Fears of Goodrich, Texas; one son, Michael (Cathy) Pearson of Kinsman, Ohio; two grandchildren, Ryan (Erin) Detrick and Dylan (Evie) Detrick; one great-grandson, Cayson Detrick; two sisters, Beatrice Johnson of Elgin and Francis Chunn of Jacksonville, Texas; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by one son, Leonard Paul Pearson.

He was a member of the Makanda Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in area churches. He worked many years for Prairie Farms before retiring.

Funeral services for Mr. Pearson will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden, with Dennis Nance officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery.
