Millie Brown

Millie Brown, 91, of Jonesboro, died at 12:25 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2017, at Union County Hospital Long Term Care Center in Anna.

She was born on Jan. 19, 1926, in Jonesboro, the daughter of Howard and Charlotte Sensmeier Brown.

She is survived by her nieces, Cindy Henley of Goreville and Charlotte (Robert) Abernethy of Griffith, Ind.; a great-niece, Abby (Matt) Blue of Goreville; a great-great-nephew and nieces, Grayson, Cameron and Avery Blue; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Hazel Sauerbrunn; and one brother, Winford O. Brown.

She was a very active member of Salem Lutheran Church in Jonesboro for many years. She loved feeding the birds, traveling and volunteering for the Meals on Wheels at the Sunshine Inn. She worked for GTE as a telephone operator and service observer. She retired with over 30 years of dedicated service.

Funeral services for Ms. Brown will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 24, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Pastor Mark Hasty officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery.

Friends can call after noon and until the service hour at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 24, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
