Mike Barringer

Mike Barringer, 67, of Dongola, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, at his home.

He was born on March 25, 1951, in Anna, the son of Vincent and Kathryn Baker Barringer.  

He married Carolyn Bennett on Oct. 31, 1976. They shared 42 years together.

He worked as a truck driver until he had a stroke in 2001, which forced him to retire. He loved his family and especially his grandbabies. In his free time, he  enjoyed fishing. 

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Barringer; sons Johnny (Kim) Johnson, Ted (Lesley) Johnson and Vincent (Rosa) Barringer; daughters Gerhonda (Tony) Wood and Chastity Kissiar (Jeff Easton); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Linda (John) Lasley and Joan Plott; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Kathryn Barringer; and by a brother-in-law, Bill Plott.

Memorial services for Mike Barringer were at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov.  21, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola, with remembrances given by family and friends.  

Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
