Mary Pitts Hoyle

Mary Pitts Hoyle, 100, of Anna, died at 6:47 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Jonesboro Rehab and Healthcare in Jonesboro.

She was born on Aug. 7, 1917, in Union County, the daughter of Luster and Flora Lott Pitts.  

She married Curtis Hoyle, who preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1939. 

She retired from the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna, where she was psychiatric aide for many years.

She is survived by her grandson, Christopher Hindman; a sister, Ruth Forbes; nephews Dale (Louise) Pitts and Paul (Susan) Pitts; and a niece, Loretta (Doug) Schmidt. 

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanette (Hoyle) Hindman; a brother, Truman (Zora) Pitts; and a sister, Hassie (Frank) Dettenbach. 

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with the  Rev. Larry Buckles officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery.
