Mary Jane Norton

Mary Jane Norton, 94, of Alto Pass, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at Manor Court in Carbondale. 

She was born on Jan. 5, 1924, in Cobden, the daughter of John and Hildegard Sweitzer Lamer.

She married Bob Norton on Aug. 19, 1939, in Union City, Tenn. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2010. 

She is survived by her son, Tim (Brenda) Norton of Jefferson City, Mo.; one granddaughter, Kimberly (Russ) Maschek of St. Charles, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Ava Asbury, Stella Mae, Russel Richard III and Mary Eleanor Maschek; two brothers, David Lamer of Anna and Marvin Lamer of Carbondale; one sister, Donna Leming of Carbondale; other relatives and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Bob Norton. 

She was a member of the Congregational Church in Alto Pass for many years. 

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Alto Pass, with the Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Interment was in the Alto Pass Cemetery.
