Mary Belle Brown

Mary Belle Brown, 88, of Dongola, died at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at home.

She was born on Feb. 22, 1928, in Cypress, the daughter of Fred and Dorothy Marie Litaker Moake.

She married Charles E. Brown on Jan. 13, 1947. He preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 2012.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dongola.

She is survived by her son, Wayne (Judy) Brown of Dongola; a daughter, Vickie (Lonnie) Corzine of Dongola; grandchildren Becky (Chris) Ritter of Geneseo, Jeff (Kim) Brown of Dongola, Sherri (Delbert) Freeman of Dongola, Jenny (Eric) Tellor of Dongola and Jerry Corzine of Dongola; great-grandchildren Hannah Ritter, Isaac (Victoria) Ritter, Samuel Ritter and Sarah Ritter, all of Geneseo, Jacob Brown, Steven Brown and Micah Brown, all of Dongola, Rachel Freeman of Dongola, Josh (Alyssa) Freeman of Marion, Gabrielle Freeman of Dongola, Cody Tellor and Destiny Tellor, both of Dongola.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles E. Brown; a sister, Diane Martin; a brother, Wilburn Moake; and an infant brother, Bobby Gene Moake.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola, with the Revs. Mike Cole and Paul Sadler officiating. Interment was in  St. John’s Cemetery in Dongola.

Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church in Dongola.
