Marilyn K. Ayers

Marilyn K. Ayers, 59, of Wolf Lake, died at 3:19 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on Feb. 12, 1958, in Kankakee, the daughter of Darris and Birdie Turner Ayers.

She loved animals, especially her beloved pets, Dixie and Bandit. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Christmas was her favorite time of the year, she was truly a kid at heart. She loved to fish, when you went fishing with her you had to catch and release. Time spent at Kinkaid Lake with her family and friends was pure enjoyment.

She is survived by her fiance, Norman R. Hickam of Wolf Lake; children Chad Ayers of Olympia, Wash., and Stacey Ayers of Wolf Lake; one sister, Darla (Michael) Kirchner; cousins Wayne, Sheldon, Mike and Jim Ayers; beloved uncle Donald; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by sisters Brenda and Carla.

According to her wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be at a later date.
