Margaret Ann Rogers

Margaret Ann Rogers, 87, of Carbondale, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Dec. 11, 2020.

She was born on Nov. 26, 1933, in Wolf Lake, the daughter of Archie and Margie Andrews Williams.

She married Patrick Edward Rogers on Aug. 24, 1957, and together they shared 63 years of marriage.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick Rogers; three daughters, Joni Rogers, Kim (John) Joiner and Cheryl Formel; two sons, Jim (Debbie) Rogers and Marc (Katie) Rogers; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister Jenny Otten; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Margie Williams; two brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Rogers was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. The many memories shared by her family and friends will be cherished by those who knew and loved her. 

She was past madame president of Carbondale Eagles Women’s Auxiliary No. 2569.

Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, 204 Halfway Rd., Marion, Ill. 62959.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, a private graveside service will be held at Oakland Cemetery and a celebration of life will be conducted at later date.

The family extended a special thank you to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Dr. Fasnacht and staff for all her care and compassion.

Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Southern Illinois is in charge of arrrangements.
