Lou Etta Rion

Lou Etta Rion, 87, of Buncombe, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at her home.

She was born on June 24, 1929, in Goreville, the daughter of Harold and Zella Stokes Billingsley.

She married Gerald Rion on April 23, 1947, in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1973.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Robbie Rion and Rachel Fufchi; two great-grandchildren, Elijah Rion and Dillon Fufchi; one brother, Darwin Billingsley of Lick Creek; one niece, Cindy (Anthony) Nixon of Lick Creek; one nephew, David (Kim) Billingsley of Salisbury, N.C.; great-nephews and great-niece Austin Billingsley, Alex Billingsley and Caroline Billingsley; one great nephew, Andrew Nixon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald Rion; and one son, Larry Joe Rion.

She worked for over 23 years at Union County Hospital in dietary until her retirement.

Funeral services for Lou Etta Rion were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Bobby Richardson officiating. Interment was in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery in Lick Creek.
